Retail fashion brand, C&A, has appointed DDB Europe as its lead strategic and creative agency across Europe, following a competitive pitch.

DDB participated with agency resources from DDB Germany, DDB Amsterdam and adam&eveDDB.

The international cross-agency team (led by Iris Minnema, DDB Amsterdam together with creative lead Diana Sukopp, DDB Group Germany and strategic lead Ben Worden, adam&eveDDB) has been tasked with developing a new international, integrated brand platform. They have already started to implement strategic recommendations, with the first Brand Equity campaign expected to launch across key European markets (excluding the UK) this Autumn.

Dr. Maik Kleinschmidt, Head of Marketing at C&A Europe says: “We have appointed DDB on the basis of its strategic thinking and creative credentials, as well as its ability to work effectively across multiple offices.”

Diana Sukopp, CCO of Lemon & DDB Germany, said: “There are not many family businesses that dare to shape their 180-year history into a new destiny for the future. With this mandate, DDB gains more than the trust in creative and strategic excellence - we gain a partner for a joint pan-border vision to wake a sleeping giant all over Europe. That sounds like the components of a dam good story to tell.”

Toby Pschorr, CEO DDB Group Germany, commented: “We are delighted to be working with C&A on its European business. This extraordinary task requires an equally unique setup. I am very proud of the teamwork across our offices, collaborating seamlessly right from the start.”

Ben Worden, Global Planning Partner, adam&eveDDB, added: “C&A is a on a mission to be the go-to fashion brand for the modern mainstream all over Europe. To help them achieve that we’re working on a strategy that will drive the transformation of everything, from brand communications to digital and in store customer experience.”

The agency search and pitch selection process was conducted by the AAR Group UK.
